Welcome to St. George
Episcopal Church
Mission Statement:
We seek to be a caring Christian
community enjoying the peace of this
island sanctuary & sharing God's love
through faith, healing & service.

We are honored that you would take
the time to get to know us.  We are a
small church that far exceeds its
expected potential with a body of
believers who share an undaunted
faith that, through Christ, we can
change the world for the better.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if
you have any questions about our
church or if there are any special
needs or requests we can remember
in our prayers.
Know that you are always welcome,
as we hope you might one day
consider joining our dear  family.

Fiesta San Lucas-October 22
It was a banner year for the Fiesta San Lucas,  a celebration of
Cuban cuisine & music featuring a silent auction to raise funds for

Epiphany 2012:
Carrying the Light of Christ to the World
O God, by the leading of a
star you manifested your
only Son to the peoples of
the earth:  Lead us, who
know you now by faith,
to your presence, where
we may see your glory
face to face; through Jesus
Christ our Lord, who
lives and reigns with you
and the Holy Spirit, one
God, now and for ever.
Amen

Red & White Dinner and Caroling
Party
On the eve of Sunday, December 18th, we had
our Annual Red and White Caroling party. After
delicious food at this Caroling Party, that was
either red or white, we took to the streets of
Heckscher Drive (mostly), gathering our crew of
motley voices with some great costuming and
assortment of lights (a most wonderful light-up
jacket and a green elf and various light up
necklaces) and sang Christmas carols to people
in the neighborhood. The welling up of emotion,
the wet eyes and the tears I saw time and time
again helped to set Christmas in motion for me.
And the song that I found the most meaningful
somehow was O Little Town of Bethlehem. The
refrain that has continued on for me this week
and been full of wonder is “the hopes and fears
of all the years are met in thee tonight.”

Advent & Christmas at Saint George
December was a whirlwind of happy activity and anticipation at
Saint George.  Our church family gathered for wonderful evenings of
shared faith, fellowship and fun - from our Advent Gala through our
Red & White Caroling Party, to our three very distinct Christmas Eve
services.  And we were blessed with having a wonderful service on
Christmas morn - something that only happens every seventh year!
